THE JOURNEY

Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Chosen for Christ Ministries (CfCM), a church founded by my mother, Pastor Amy Williams in 1970.

We are truly grateful to God for enabling us to reach this milestone in our ministry.

This ministry started out with the name ‘Hanwell Pentecostal Church’.  We are now called Chosen for Christ Ministries.

The church began in a small living room, in the house of Pastor Amy Williams.  However, the congregation has grown over the years, to the extent whereby we now have two locations, Hanwell, based in West London, and Downsview, based in South East London.

When Pastor Williams started out 50 years ago, she did not expect that 50 years later she would be leading two congregations, as well as impacting thousands of lives through her ministry of preaching, intercessory pray, teaching and pastoral care.  As her child it felt as though she was in ministry 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (despite being 94 years of age, it feels as though nothing much has changed today).

During these 50 years, CfCM can say, without a doubt, that God has been with us, and that he has ordained this ministry for His purpose.

He has led us through every stage of our Journey as a congregation, and used us to bring many into relationship with Him here in the UK and abroad, many of whom have become Pastors and Leaders.  We have had a glorious time as a church serving Him, preaching His gospel and leading individuals to Salvation.

We will be celebrating God’s goodness with two special services, which will be available for all to watch on various Social Networks.  This commemorative brochure gives us, as a church, an opportunity to share and reflect with you our past, celebrate our successes, and look forward with excitement and enthusiasm to the future.

Pastor Williams is saturated with gratitude , and heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed towards the production of this wonderful brochure.

Thank you for journeying with us.  I hope as you read through this brochure, you will be blessed and renewed.  So come and celebrate with us as we take you on our Journey.

Remain blessed

Tribute 1

The Lord called me at the age of 12 by a tree in Jamaica and I surrendered my whole life to the lord.  I arrived in England age 16 and Church began at Hammond Road in the bedroom, I would walk the streets evangelising Inviting the people to come and the church grew from these meetings miracles began to happen and souls were being saved.  The message was simple “repent and give your life to Christ” People would tell others about the meetings and they would come and get saved and filled with the holy spirit and lives were changed.  The Police would often come to stop the meetings but when they saw the power of God at work they would walk away and say carry on we can’t deal with this.  A number of churches were birthed from these gatherings.  God revealed to Pastor Williams to anoint his chosen ministers to lead in their own ministry and today they have established their own churches which are still striving.  Due to the increase in attendees we were full to over flowing and now prayed for a building to worship in.  God revealed and made a way for us to obtain a building to worship in and the church increased in numbers.

Nothing would hinder or stop me from attending church the snow was knee high and the fog was so thick that you couldn’t see your own hand in front of your face, but i hazard my life for the lord endured much trials and tribulations but as Job said though he slay me yet will I trust him. Psalm 91 has carried me though until this day.

Yours in the Masters Service
